Foundation

The Blue Island Oyster Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3), was established in 2018 by the Blue Island Oyster Farmers of the Great South Bay. Our mission is to protect Long Island, NY waterways & environment through education and community outreach.

We believe in order for change to occur we must start small, that is why we launched our first campaign, Operation Blue Earth in 2015. OBE focuses on spreading the awareness of the harmful impacts of lawn chemicals. We are working towards Sayville and West Sayville being the first towns on Long Island to be chemical free.
